CloudArt invites both emerging and established artists to become part of a transformative movement that is expanding not only the art world, but supporting artists in building new communities of car. We are delighted to announce an open call for artists to join our platform, where Contemporary, Digital, and Physical Art intersect, creating a unique digital gallery to show and sell art, that is conscious and responsive art.
VIBE is a playful, exploratory and curiosity driven exhibition and collaborative meaning-making project, led by CLOUDART, and curated by Dr. Dylan McGarry. It aims to reveal the subtle, non-conscious, and pre-personal aspects of human experience that underlie emotions, feelings, and sensations, and how these can help us unlock the secrets of the Universe, or Pluriverse.
The exhibition aims to focus on “Affect” which is seen as a fluid, relational, and embodied force that could also be colloquially described as “Vibes”. The experiences we pick up of the universe, that cannot be fully understood through language, and far better surfaced through artistic exploration and expression.
Nikola Tesla is famously quoted saying: "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration." He reveals the importance of understanding the forces and vibes of the universe, which he believes is composed of energy, frequency, and vibration. Inspired by this, we are inviting artists to submit artwork (paintings, sculptures, installations, animations, film, digital and other) that helps us understand the ‘vibes of the pluralverse’ we are each picking up, either between each other, or the more-than human world.
In their book, "Meeting the Universe Halfway: Quantum Physics and the Entanglement of Matter and Meaning," non-binary physicist Karen Barad explores the intersections of quantum physics, philosophy, and feminism. They argue that the classical dichotomies between subject and object, human and nonhuman, and matter and meaning are no longer tenable, and that we are relationally entangled with phenomena, and through this intra-action, we are transformed and shaped. They describe the world or Universe as being made up of entangled agencies, where humans and nonhumans are intra-active and co-constitutive.
Vibration is the physical manifestation of frequency. Everything in the universe vibrates at specific frequencies, from the atoms in our bodies to the planets in our solar system. How do you understand vibrations, what is the Vibe you picking up? How can we tap into the underlying energy that drives the universe? In what ways are these vibes being affected by other forces?
The final theme pulls all these experiences together. We aim to understand ‘Affect’, the way that energy, vibration and frequency are felt in the body. These experiences escape linguistic capture, they operate beyond language and cognitive processing. They precede emotion, and are the raw materials that emotions are made of. Affect is also relational, it arises from intra-actions and encounters with others (human and more than). Affect is an embodied sensory experience that shapes our experiences and gifts us perception, attention and memory. Finally Affect is political, it shapes power relations, social norms, cultural values and knowledge hierarchies.
" The spacetime manifold does not sit still while bodies are made and remade. The relationship between space, time, and matter is much more intimate. Spacetime itself is iteratively reconfigured through the ongoing intra-activity of the world."
-Karen Barad

CloudArt, is rethinking how to finance social and ecological movements, by putting artists and cultural practitioners at the drivers seat. Through digitising artwork, and tokenising their work - CloudArt supports artists in utitizing the power of blockchain and digitial currencies to claim back the ways in which they finance the projects and people who are making the world a better place. Artists can choose where the proceeds from the sales of artwork will go to. Other galleries do a 50/50% split, but CloudArt creates a 45/45/10% split, to ensure our art sales support social and ecological justice and build social tissue.
