Kelp Forest

Anja Albosta's work embodies thickly described visual narratives through her unique approach to "Symbolic Expressionism." Real world events, book and news clips collaged, painted around in water-soluble oil, gold and silver leaf. 

Through mixed media techniques incorporating found materials and magazine cutouts, Albosta creates visually striking compositions that invite viewers to ponder the interconnectedness of our world. In her art, octopuses entwine with Greta Thunberg, climate change intersects with sheep, sea dragons waft over parliament, multi-species eyes witness climate collapse, and moons are touched by tentacles. Albosta's work invites us to explore the intersection of art, activism, and storytelling.
