The Turtle and the Yoke

Tibethan Buddhist Scholar and Teacher remind us of the rarity of incarnating as human life in this vast universe by using the Shantideva fable which simply imagines if the whole world was covered by ocean, and all that existed in it was a turtle and a yoke adrift in the currents. To be incarnated in the human form you are now, is just like the turtle putting its neck through the hole of a yoke floating on a vast ocean. How rare it is to hold this consciousness, now, in this moment.
